Please BE AWARE travelling sharpeners are using the PROSHARP name to tout for business in hairdressing salons. In some cases the damage caused cannot be rectified and in all cases the scissor is unuseable. This is a disaster for you and we are concerned that our trusted reputation that has been built on careful and good service to the hair industry,(over 13 years) is being compromised. We have been contacted from as far away as Scotland to Cornwall and everywhere in between about this scam. We do not visit salons unless by appointment and they are regular customers. BE AWARE.   • Scissors any make or type £15 each Two or more £13 each.(includes thinners & left handed)


  • Ceramic blades scissors £18 each. Two or more £15 each.(includes thinners & left handed)


  • Clipper blades(any make) send them in with your scissors £6 each .


  • Cut throat/straight shaving razors £15



    • Payment by cheque included with your item or payment in advance (see the bottom of this page) or by email payment request sent to you on completion of your work by us.


    Scissors are inspected cleaned & tested for defects and damage . Then sharpened, (hand honed) blades reset if required, any parts replaced free if needed. Then oiled balanced and tested again for correct function, before despatch.

    Scissors are returned to you the same day we recieve your scissor or the next working day. Total satisfaction without question.

    Remember your first sharpening is free if you bought your scissors from us,priced over £50 please provide proof of purchase.

    Regular maintenance extends the life of your scissor and keeps them a joy to use and your life a lot easier.


    How to tell if they need sharpening/Servicing



    • Poor cutting and slicing

    • Folding hair (Especially at the tips)

    • Balance or tension upset due to dropping them

    • Customers complain of pulling

    • They just don't feel right!


    It's at this stage you should have them looked at as lasting and irreparable damage can occur as the blunt misaligned blades grind the life out of each other.
    It is reccomended that if you cut between six and eight clients with wet hair a day using japanese/convex edged scissors, they should be serviced every six months. If you do the same numbers but cut dry hair service every four months. It soon adds up and of course if you do more than this send for servicing sooner

    The Test




    1. Take a single sheet of toilet tissue

    2. Separate the two halves

    3. Take one of the halves and wet it

    4. Hold it in one hand and try to cut it


    Sharp scissors no problem Blunt scissors tear or fold the tissue. Sharpening is now due to prolong the life of your scissor. "Note" It's not a good idea to cut paper with your scissors because it blunts them, but if you are testing because you are worried about sharpness it's probably time for a service any way.



    Royal Mail Recorded delivery standard return, compensation up to £41 is included in the price and so is vat. If you require higher compensation in case of loss please add special delivery cost to sharpening price:-

    Special delivery loss compensation please add £5.50 up to £500 loss compensation per package £6.35 up to £1000 loss compensation per package. This will cover you up to 500grams or just over a pound in weight. You can still use your Freepost envelope with special delivery just take it to the post office and pay the extra. (Might be a good idea if they are expensive or a lot of scissors?)
